 The government was having unusual and conspicuous success with its vaccination programme…actually hitting its targets which it was approaching with tremendous gusto.

 The Government’s vaccination policy was to prioritise those most likely to burden the NHS should they catch COVID and so the over 80’s were the main beneficiaries.

 Gavin Williamson’s claim that we had been the fastest to approve a vaccine because we are the best country in the world was another own goal not only indicating adolescent Trumpian characteristics but also a disregard for what should be part of a global effort, so he managed to upset other nations and worse gave ammunition to anti vaxxers who could claim that the fast track had cut corners on safety…and all for what?
